Winger opens 2026 season with Top-5 run at Penton Raceway

Getting in one of the two scheduled races with the Southern All Stars, Ashton Winger joined a 29-car field at Penton (Ala.) Raceway on Friday evening before Saturday's event at North Georgia was called off due to rain.

Laying down the third-quickest lap in his group, Winger started fifth in the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win feature and ran fourth when the checkered flag flew.
