Ashton Winger grabs Top-10 in Gateway Dirt Nationals in The Dome at America's Center
Selected for the first preliminary night in The Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) on Thursday, Ashton Winger and his Mathews Motorsports team kicked off the Gateway Dirt Nationals among 62 other competitors.
Clocking in seventh-quickest in his qualifying group, Ashton ran runner-up in his heat race and started eighth in the 25-lap preliminary feature. Winger gained two positions and finished sixth in the $10,000-to-win main event.
Starting on the pole of a qualifier on Saturday, Winger picked up the win and earned a sixth-row starting position in the $70,000-to-win finale. Ashton moved forward in the 40-lap feature event and recorded a sixth-place finish.
