Winger grabs Clash at the Mag opener at Magnolia Motor Speedway

On Friday afternoon, Ashton Winger rolled into the pit gates at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) alongside his Mathews Motorsports team for the two-day Clash at the Mag with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series.

With a whopping 54-car field checked in, Winger laid down the eighth-quickest lap in his qualifying group before moving from third-to-first in his heat race. Ashton started outside row-two for the 30-lap feature and quickly took the race lead on lap three. Briefly losing the lead to Jake O'Neil, Winger took back the top spot and survived a scare with a lap car to take home the $5,000 payday.

Winger dealt with mechanical issues in his heat on Saturday evening which prevented him from starting the $12,000-to-win finale.
