Pair of fifth-place finishes with HTF Series at Talladega Short Track
Losing the World of Outlaw events in Ohio to rain, Ashton Winger took the Mathews Motorsports No. 12 machine to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday afternoon for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series Bama Bash.
With a massive field of 50 drivers on hand, Winger qualified fifth-quickest in his group before running second in his heat race. Ashton started eighth in the $8,000-to-win opener and raced his up to the Top-5 in fifth.
As the competition bolstered to 53 entries, Ashton picked up a heat race victory but redrew the No. 6 and started on row three for the feature. With a $12,000 payday on the line, Winger drove to another fifth-place finish.
