Winger suffers DNF outing at Whynot Motorsports Park with HTF Series
Ashton Winger rejoined the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series on Friday afternoon to compete in the two-day House of Hook Showdown at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday and Saturday.
Among a talented field of 45 Super Late Model teams, Winger qualified sixth-fastest in his group before making up two spots in his heat race to pick up the victory. Redrawing the No. 3, Ashton started on the second-row of the $8,000-to-win feature and ran inside the Top-5 for much of the 40-lap main event.. Winger was battling for the runner-up position when contact from another competitor sent him careening into the wall and ended his night early.
Saturday's $12,000-to-win finale was rained out.
