Ashton Winger lands podium finish with Spring Nationals at Senoia Raceway
With a three-race stretch ahead of him, Ashton Winger and the Mathews Motorsports team kicked off the weekend on Friday night at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway for the first of two events with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.
Winger started third in the 40-lap main event but faded to finish 10th.
Ashton found better luck at his home track of Senoia (Ga.) Raceway on Saturday evening as he qualified fourth-quickest in his group before finishing runner-up in his heat race. With $10,053 on the line in the main event, Winger drove to a third-place finish. He trailed Cody Overton and Ethan Dotson.
Wrapping up the weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Sunday, Winger started 10th in the $10,000-to-win feature and finished 14th.
