Ashton Winger secures runner-up points finish with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at I-75
For the final weekend of competition with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, Ashton Winger and the Mathews Motorsports team checked into I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for Championship Weekend.
Laying down the quickest lap in his qualifying group, Winger went on to win his heat race and redraw the No. 3 starting position. In the $10,000-to-win opener, Ashton raced to a Top-5 finish in fifth.
Looking to outrun Sam Seawright for second-place in the point standings on Saturday, Ashton was able to finish ahead of Seawright with a sixth-place finish in the $20,000-to-win finale.
Winger finished second in the HTFSDS point standings and took home the $25,000 runner-up points payout.
