Winger notches Top-10 finish at Volunteer Speedway
On Thursday evening, Ashton Winger entered the Gambler Transport Motorsports No. 89 Late Model into battle at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the inaugural Kyle Larson Presents Late Model Challenge powered by Tezos event. Drawing a stout field of 42 Late Models, Winger edged his way into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Returning to action on Saturday afternoon taking Friday night off, Winger headed to Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) for the Spring 50. With 37 Late Models entered, Winger came in sixth in his heat before placing second in his B-Main. Starting the $10,000-to-win in 21st, Ashton advanced through the field 14 spots in the 50-lapper to finish seventh.
