Winger claws to Top 5 Finish at Volunteer Speedway

Ashton Winger traveled to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Friday night to kick off the doubleheader with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. Drawing 33 cars, Winger edged his way into the opening night feature with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat. Rolling off 16th, Ashton marched through the field 12 positions in the 50-lapper to register a fourth place finish behind Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb Jr., and Cade Dillard with Chase Junghans coming in fifth. The following night for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Ashton time in ninth fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting the feature in 10th, Winger gained four spots in the 50-lapper to notch a sixth place finish.

Ashton sits in ninth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
